Design in miniature – Charlotte and Charlie

Du design en miniature – Charlotte et Charlie

Did you know that the Marais Street store has exclusive rights in Quebec to the collections of the manufacturer Natart ? This Quebec company manufactures solid wood furniture for babies, children and teenagers at its Princeville factory. Formerly established in Italy, Natart moved to Quebec in 1995 and has since become an international reference in furniture for toddlers.

Growing with the child

Little by little, the child grows. Although convertible furniture is not new, today it offers even more possibilities and functions. Today, a newborn bassinet can be transformed into a double bed in no time. These new convertible furniture sets are more popular than ever at Charlotte and Charlie.

Why choose Natart ?

- Both aesthetic and practical, evolving furniture accompanies son and daughter, from birth to adulthood.

- All furniture is entirely made in Quebec.

- All products are made of Greenguard certified green materials, meaning they have used formaldehyde-free and lead-free glues, paints and varnishes, in order to ensure the safest environment for your child.

- In addition to being solid, they also offer varied styles, with classic or downright trendy ranges.

Here are 4 Natart collections that we love:

There’s something for everyone at Charlotte et Charlie. The main brand, Natart Juvenile , is divided into different styles. Our favorite, right on trend, is the rustic range made of sturdy, textured fir wood, a nod to the popular barn wood.

While the Nest brand, still manufactured by the Natart company, offers more affordable sets, but still following the same manufacturing standards of the company. The Emerson collection is contemporary and easy to arrange. We like its unisex aspect that will easily transition from the son's room to the girl's room.

Do you like minimalist, clean, even avant-garde lines? You will fall (like us!) for theTulip brand, the most designer of the three Natart brands. Its Rio collection currently in stores was directly influenced by the last Milan Design Fair. At the cutting edge of trends!

Do you prefer the charm of Mediterranean-inspired lines? Do like the singer Marie-Mai who chose the Ithaca collection from Charlotte et Charlie to completely furnish the room of her daughter who will be born soon. Marie-Mai was charmed by its meticulous manufacturing details that make the collection unique, elegant and timeless. Not forgetting the convertible bassinet, of course!

Accessories that complete the decor

There's more than just beds and dressers at Charlotte et Charlie. You can decorate your baby's room entirely! Soft bedding, stylish frames and lighting, new-generation rocking chairs from Natart and even beanbags for children from the Quebec company Cyan are all there. Baby will have the most beautiful room!

5 tips for creating a safe room for your baby:

- Use soft lighting. Avoid using lights that are too powerful or too numerous in the baby's room, as this could disturb their sleep.

- Duvets, thick blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and other soft objects should be kept out of the baby's bed, as they pose a suffocation risk. When the baby is a little older, they could also be used to climb and fall out of the bed.

- Make sure the fitted sheet fits snugly against the mattress. To reduce the risk of suffocation, the Canadian Paediatric Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics also recommend not putting any blankets in the crib. Using a sleeping bag is safer to keep your baby warm. If a blanket is necessary, choose one that is made of a thin, lightweight, breathable fabric.

- Keep the strings of mobiles and hanging toys as well as the cords of blinds out of the child's reach.

- Finally, since December 29, 2016, it is now prohibited to manufacture or sell drop-side bassinets. This new regulation aims to reduce the risk of injury or death to children. These beds are already banned in the United States.
