12 indoor and family outings in Quebec – Charlotte and Charlie

12 sorties intérieures et familiales à Québec – Charlotte et Charlie

There’s no shortage of activities and outing ideas in Quebec City. Some are free, others are paid; some require a reservation, others don’t. Our list offers a variety for all ages and tastes. Are you ready?

1. Jump on the iSaute trampolines

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning, from 9am to 10am, the iSaute trampoline centre reserves a space for little ones and invites them to come and jump, in complete safety. The rate is $10 per child, per session (6 years and under, one accompanying adult per child is included).

2. Have lunch, move around or attend a workshop at Bougeotte et Placotine

Well-known to expectant and new mothers, the Bougeotte et Placotine perinatal fitness center is also a popular place to chat and have lunch. In Sillery, the café is also offering a brand new menu . We love the fun corner to entertain the little ones while we finish the last sip of coffee.

3. Climb at Delire Escalade

Young and old climbers will love stretching their legs while taking on the challenges of Délire Escalade . Go for a half-day or for climbing lessons.

4. Slide down one of the 14 water slides at Bora Parc

With its year-round Polynesian atmosphere, Bora Parc at Village Vacances Valcartier is definitely the perfect place to take a break from winter! The whole family can have fun in the wave pool, launch themselves from the top of the slides, float on the adventure river or surf a wave.

5. Read, explore and tell stories at the library

A visit to the municipal library is never boring! Every week, several free and varied activities are offered: story time, movies, children's shows, etc. No activities planned today? Take advantage of it to stock up on reading!

6. Swim like a fish in water

No need to wait for summer to put on your swimsuit! Every day, the various municipal pools offer free swimming sessions, which are free for residents. Children will be delighted to thumb their noses at winter and swim freely.

7. Dress up and play… at the Museum of Civilization

The Museum of Civilization offers several permanent and temporary exhibitions on a host of different subjects. Discover all the activities with magical settings that will please children!

8. Visit the Éducazoo shelter

The exotic and domestic animals of the Éducazoo shelter travel all over the place (daycares, children's parties, schools, etc.), but did you know that it is possible to meet them at their shelter in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures? Visits are offered to the public on weekends (with a fee).

9. Let loose in one of the amusement parks

Unmissable, parks and amusement centers are certainly popular with children who can burn off their energy, climb, run, jump... without risking breaking a lamp in the living room or damaging the new sofa. Where to go? At Récréofun , Carie Factory (in the photo below).

10. Watch a movie with the family on Saturday mornings at Cinéplex Ste-Foy

Movies are expensive? Did you know that every Saturday morning at 11 a.m., some Cinéplex theaters offer the “Family Movies” series for $3.99? A portion of the proceeds is donated to UNIS.

11. Get a parent-child tandem massage at Zeste détente

Getting a massage is the ultimate relaxation for many parents, but it can also be for children! Just before the exam period or before going back to school, it's the opportunity to make an appointment at Zeste détente for a tandem parent and child massage or a class to massage your baby.

12. Let loose the madman to the imaginarius

The Imaginarius amusement center offers a different concept imagined around a small town. Preschool and primary school children can have fun in different themed attractions that promote their motor, intellectual and social development.

5 accessories to take with you on family outings, from Charlotte and Charlie’s selection:

Psst! Don't leave without these 5 accessories that will certainly make family outings more enjoyable (even if we don't have control over your little one's tantrums, do we? ;-))

Reusable and practical snack bags, like those from the Tiny Twinkle collection , which can be used to hold fruit or vegetable sticks, crackers or pieces of cheese to keep hungry little ones entertained.

Leave the purse or the big diaper bag at home. To play with the kids, the backpack diaper bag is the most practical. We love the Herschel models .

Baby is thirsty and would like to have his drink warm? The Baby's Brew portable bottle warmer comes to our rescue! We plug it in the car and, hey presto, it warms the milk during the trip.

Parents know it: we never (or almost!) leave the house without wipes. Ultra versatile, they clean baby's bottom, hands that have touched everything, dirty little mouths, etc. We love the eco-friendly side of Gom.mee reusable wipes .

To keep hot or cold drinks at the right temperature, nothing beats a well-sealed, solid and insulated bottle. And what about the ultra-practical silicone bottles from Minika ! We'll even borrow them from our little one on occasion!
