Spring break is coming up and you're lacking inspiration? Quebec City and its surrounding areas are full of sports, cultural and artistic activities to entertain and entertain children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. Here are 12 suggestions to entertain the whole family!
Travel the heights
Do your children love climbing trees? That's perfect: they can do it safely on the Arbraska aerial courses which, for the first time, are open even in winter.
We tested and really liked the children's course at Arbraska Chauveau , in Quebec, which offers a host of challenges for ages 5 and up. Even adults can venture there!
Psst! For ages 12 and up, try the ziplines, which offer beautiful winter scenery (and thrills!)
Getting swallowed by a whale
A visit to the Aquarium du Québec is always magical. Especially with young children, who marvel at the jellyfish, polar bears and walruses. During the spring break, in addition to marine animals, craft workshops, a sugar shack, inflatable games and various activities will entertain young and old alike.
Don't miss the new ImMERsion activity to see hundreds of animated animals parade before our eyes in an immersive projection room. Watch out for the whale that could swallow us!
Discover a LEGO brick exhibition
Do your children love LEGO blocks? They will certainly be impressed by the 37 sculptures in the fascinating exhibition The Secret Power of Animals , which has been installed at the Galeries de la Capitale. A polar bear, monkey, turtle and other life-size animals have been entirely designed in some two million LEGO bricks.
Being surprised by Manif d'art
Young and old alike will be amazed by the works of Manif d'art, the Quebec City biennial, which is taking place throughout the city. Among the activities, a treasure hunt invites children to follow the public art trail. At the Musée national des beaux-arts, a guide will accompany families onan express tour (20 minutes flat!) of the central exhibition (reservation required).
Pictured is the work Snowman by artist Tony Tasset, will it melt?
Making sushi
A sushi night with the kids? Now that's a great idea. Making your own sushi is a great way to introduce kids to these new flavors and get them interested in food and cooking. No need to run to the grocery store to gather all the ingredients: Nicky Sush i comes to our rescue with its Conception package. It includes the entire kit, even the makisu to roll the sushi. The package is available at both Limoilou and Loretteville locations.
Having fun at the museum
Let's go to the museum! Children of all ages are welcome at the Musée de la civilisation, which offers a non-boring program for spring break. It is obviously linked to the popular exhibition Ô Merde , which intrigues young and old alike. Among other things, children will be able to solve the mystery of the sewer monster in a rally of clues to be discovered throughout the exhibitions.

Our essentials for a successful break
A new board game
It is well known that novelty is always more interesting. For a day off at home, we surprise the children by unwrapping a new board game or a puzzle .
Change of clothes
Wet mittens, a hat that won't stay in place: the day can quickly be ruined when children's clothes and accessories don't fit. So we leave with spares. Among our favorites, we will bring these new Nolan plush jackets from Liewood . Too cute!
Sunglasses
No question of going out to play without sunglasses ! In addition to protecting against UV rays (which are reflected on the snow), they will also act as a barrier to the wind and cold for our little ones' fragile eyes.
Water bottles and gourds
“I’m thirsty!” we often hear as soon as we do an activity. That’s why we always carry a bottle and snacks with us when we travel. A tip: I always have a water bottle and an insulated bottle of hot chocolate on hand when we do an outdoor activity. I love the Quebec range Pois & moi .
DIY projects
Stock up on craft workshops and manual activities! We love Djeco 's "in a box" creative projects that bring together all the necessary materials. (Psst! We can even keep them busy while we sort out the last files while working remotely.)
Happy spring break!
